Kellyn Uhl

Bio
Kellyn Uhl earned her MS in Dance/Movement Therapy from Sarah Lawrence College, and her BFA in Acting with a Specialization in Dance from Michigan State University. Kellyn is a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT), one of 14 in the state of Michigan, and currently works in mental health, offering individual and group creative arts therapy sessions to adolescent and adult clients.
During her nearly 8 years living and working in New York City, Kellyn worked as an AEA actor, dancer, and choreographer. Kellyn has performed at some of the country’s most prestigious regional theaters and collaborated with some of Broadway’s most supreme directors and choreographers, including Barrington Stage Company (John Rando, Josh Bergasse), and the Tony Award winning Goodspeed Opera House (Greg Ganakas, Ray Roderick, Vince Pesce, Kelli Barclay) where she was invited back to serve as assistant to the director and choreographer during multiple productions. In addition to these, Kellyn has performed at the Hangar Theatre, the Players Theatre, Theatre Under St. Marks, and Dixon Place.
Kellyn returned to MSU in 2015 to serve as Instructor of Musical Theatre and Dance for two semesters. While there she choreographed the department’s mainstage production of Hair (Lansing City Pulse “Pulsar” Award for Best Choreography), and directed and devised a new play, The December Project, alongside undergrad and graduate students. Kellyn also served as Interim Associate Director of the MSU FCU Institute for Arts and Creativity, during which she acted as both producer and production manager for the Institute’s cornerstone programs: Take It From The Top, ĭmáGen, and the 4th Annual Ovation Awards.
