Bio

Ranae Selmeyer is an artist, designer, and educator. She began her creative journey as a rebellious student who pushed the envelope, finding a creative workaround for most everything. At the collegiate level, Ranae studied under Scott Cavin (Chadron State College) and Mike Monsos (University of Montana). Selmeyer spent a great deal of time slinging paint on stages across Montana, Arizona, and Colorado, charging for many accomplished designers, including  J. David Blatt, Robert Kovach, and the late Paul Bridgman. Ranae has been honored to design with many amazing production teams, including Colorado Candlelight, Arizona Broadway, Bigfork Summer Playhouse, Saugatuck Center for the Arts, and most recently Williamston Theatre. A professor of design at Michigan State University, Ranae enjoys pushing students to be their most authentically creative selves. Special thanks to everyone who has taken a chance on her, her students for being a constant source of inspiration, and her family for always being her rock.
